One FRAKT equals one bottle of whisky

Description

Crafted in partnership with Faer Isles Distillery, this limited release captures the quiet power of the North Atlantic and the emerging spirit of a new whisky tradition. Drawn exclusively from Cask No. 12, one of the earliest bourbon casks filled in the distillery’s inaugural year in May 2023, it represents a rare early chapter in Faroese whisky history.

A defining element of this release is its water source. The distillery draws from an underground spring discovered 170 meters beneath the seabed during the construction of a tunnel between two islands. Naturally filtered through ancient rock, this sub‑sea spring water adds a rounded depth and a subtle mineral character that pairs beautifully with the gentle sweetness of the bourbon‑seasoned oak. The result is a profile that leans toward the layered softness often associated with Speyside-vanilla, light orchard fruit, and a calm, lingering finish. yet still carries a distinctly Faroese edge shaped by the North Atlantic environment.

The whisky will be released in August 2028, giving it a surprisingly short maturation period for a spirit of this quality. That early maturity is part of its charm: a young distillery finding its voice, and a cask that developed faster and more gracefully than anyone expected.

Only a small number of bottles exist, each individually numbered to underline its uniqueness. This is not a mass‑market product; it is a collector’s item tied to a specific place, a specific cask, and the very beginning of a rising Nordic distillery. This release reflects what Fraktium stands for: access to remarkable craftsmanship, transparency in origin, and the chance to be part of a story from its first pages.
Faer Isles Distillery was founded by three Faroese whisky visionaries who set out to create a spirit shaped by one of the world’s most dramatic climates. Early pilot distillations in 2019-2020 established the house style: a clean, characterful new make designed to mature in the North Atlantic’s cold, salty winds.

As international interest grew, the founders opened the Faer Isles Founders’ Club, attracting members from more than twenty countries. Subsequent investment rounds expanded the project into a full‑scale distillery in Vestmanna, complete with a dedicated brewhouse, stillhouse, and a visitor experience rooted in Faroese culture.

The first casks were laid down in the coastal village of Kvívík, chosen for its naturally cool temperatures, constant airflow, and maritime humidity - conditions that create a slow, expressive maturation unlike anything in mainland Europe or Scotland, and shaped from day one by spirit distilled on custom copper pot stills crafted by Speyside Copper Works in Scotland.

Today, Faer Isles stands as one of the world’s most remote whisky distilleries, combining modern production with a fiercely local identity. Its casks represent not just Faroese whisky; they embody the North Atlantic, distilled.
